PAINTED
Painted cabinets are painted on MDF doors with acrylic paint that is cured with UV resistant coating. MDF stands for Medium-density fiberboard. Which is an engineered wood product made by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibers, combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming it into panels by applying high temperature and pressure.
We do not paint on soft maple doors due to the paint cracking over time. Keep in mind wood expands and contracts due humidity in the air which then causes the layer of paint and
protective coating to crack. Especially being an organic material.
MDF does not expand and contract like wood and provides a very smooth surface for the paint to adhere. Also our MDF door styles do not have joint seams, where as on wood doors, the paint will eventually crack visibly. Refer to photo below.
Door samples measure at 13.5" x 10". These are kept in stock as much as possible. If there is a need to be made, please allow 2-3 weeks to be produced.
Chips samples are 3"x 4" wood blocks to show the stain color. They are made to show door styles. These are perfect when needing to narrow down multiple color choices and then doors samples are ordered in the chosen colors.
